Remote control your FireTV through USB

Last night I found myself with the dire need of controlling my FireTV through USB. How did this happen ? Easy enough, I like to fiddle with my FireTV. One particular achievement I am usually thankful for has been being able to add bluetooth headphones support into my FireTV. But as you can read in that earlier tutorial, first I had to install  (by sideloading, just as it is done with XBMC apk) a settings.apk into my FireTV. This settings.apk comprised of the full settings menu found on fully fledged android devices. Once installed, the Settings apk would allow me to access the...

Unlock your FireTV Stick

Since Amazon launched the FireTV stick, many of us have been wondering about installing XBMC -or as it changed name- KODI on it. Now, as the first shipped FireTV sticks are reaching their lucky purchasers, we start getting interesting comments through the different social channels. Reset your Amazon FireTV

The following tutorial will teach you different reset methods for your Amazon FireTV. Underneath the nice minimalist black box of your FireTV there is a rather complex computer, running the Android operative system, as you already know. In  consecuence, you may notice that your FireTV is slowing down, having hiccups, playing funny, or directly freezing on you. Just as it actually happens with...

Nyko game controller for FireTV

The Nyko game controller is a very interesting alternative for your FireTV, as it costs about half the price of the offical Amazon’s game controller, but works and feels just like it. Actually I feel that paying more than 20 dollars for a game controller, when weighting in the rather low game quality of your fireTV, is an overkill, so I would never have paid the money asked for the original game controller by Amazon. The Nyko game controller is compatible also with all Android devices (provided they run Android 3.0 or better). Check their own website and product specs...

Goodbye Netflix White Screen on FireTV

Finally some resilient bugs and problems on your FireTV have been ridden out: Particularly on the Netflix app, which has been misbehaving for tons of FireTV users. I was one of those users. My FireTV kept showing me a white screen when loading Netflix. I tried to reboot it, but the white screen kept coming up. I deleted the Netflix app cache, with no good results either. On different forums I read that the solution included factory defaulting (hard reset) my FireTV. I was not in the mood. I reinstalled the Netflix App and finally the white screen dissapeared....
